On August 10th, at 5:50 in the morning, Asia Monet arrived on planet earth to bring a peace and calm to a life filled with self absorption. The most fragile, innocent looking child I have ever seen has just came into my life to melt my heart and open my inner most feelings. Life as I formerly knew it will most definitely change forever with this new arrival and addition to the Ray Family!
In 2001, I walked away from competitive bodybuilding to pursue a life after the sport of bodybuilding. By April 2003, I married my soul mate and wife Kristie. In 2004, I was blessed with news that “Baby would make 3” in the summer of 2005! Where’d the time go?

I sped through a 15 year Pro career, 2 and ½ years of marriage, the purchase of a new home, career change in working with VYO Tech Nutritionals and now Asia Monet Ray comes screaming into our lives like a shooting star!

At first I was a bit nervous and anxious with not knowing whether we’d be having a boy or a girl followed by tension at the site of my wife being uncomfortable and in pain. Questions popped into my mind like, “If it’s a Boy, which of the 3 names will I use?” Followed by, “If she is a Girl, will she be an Athlete, Singer, Model or a Scholar?”

My mind was in overdrive, as the doctor was giving the green light to PUSH after 11 hours of labor!

The moment I have been waiting for peaking and climaxing at the sight of her hair peaking out into the world! “Short breaths,” I repeated out loud to my wife and quietly to myself to avoid getting light headed. Then with a huge push, she was here! Wholly molly! A full head of hair, big angel eyes, pumping her arms and legs every which way but loose! Looking up at Kristie breathing a big sigh of relief, the pain was worth the smile and cries of our first child.

We both stared at our creation, that God directed into our lives by setting us on a collision course to raise this child in His word:
 
*  “Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.” 1Timothy 2:15

*  “Like newborn babes, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation; 3 for you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.” 1 Peter 2:2

What a blessing it was to be a witness to a Life coming into a world not its own. We are here for only a little while but to look upon this miracle of life is something I will marvel at the rest of my days.
